• Unshaped Refractory Materials

          Unshaped refractory materials are defined as” mixtures consisting of aggregates, additives, and binders, prepared for direct use in the state of delivery or after adding suited liquids”. In contrast to refractory bricks, they are without specific shape and are in majority placed in larger sections behind molds and templates forming a monolithic lining. Gunning installations without the requirement for a mold are increasing due to ease of application and higher installation speed.

Low-Sodium Tabular Aluminum Oxide

Low-sodium tabular aluminum oxide is a pure, fully developed sintered aluminum oxide without any additives such as MgO, B2O3, etc. It has a low sodium content, complete shrinkage, large crystal particles, and well-developed α-Al2O3 crystal structure. Low-sodium tabular aluminum oxide has higher aluminum oxide purity, bulk density and lower porosity and water absorption than ordinary tabular aluminum oxide.

  1. Low sodium content (not higher than 0.2%)
  2. High purity, aluminum oxide content is not less than 99.3%
  3. Large crystal particles, high crystal strength
  4. Bulk density is higher than ordinary sintered aluminum oxide
  5. Significant low porosity
  6. Low water absorption
  7. Good thermal shock resistance
  8. Low thermal conductivity, good insulation performance
  9. High toughness

Applications:

Refractory products made of low-sodium tabular aluminum oxide have good corrosion resistance, erosion resistance, thermal shock resistance, peeling resistance, etc., and are suitable for various fields in the refractory industry. In addition, it is also widely used in high temperature industries such as metallurgy, industrial ceramics, thermal conductive materials, and building materials.
